Working for God

A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.
In general, I don't know where I'm going or what I am doing. I do know I am headed to heaven but as far as this world is concerned, I am just along for the ride.
I have quit trying to figure out what God wants me to do and the direction coming up and instead, just jump in each day with whatever He has planned and laid out for me.
I have had a lot of direction changes the past 7 years. Each change, I got a new direction and then another and another.
Am I an engineer, am I a salesman or an inventory control? Am I a forklift driver, shipping and receiving clerk or do I work in purchasing or maybe a warehouse manager? Am I an author, a singer/songwriter or a worship leader? Do I work in a music studio or am I a photographer? I guess the answer is...yes?
But past all those things, foundationally, I am a child of God. In the big view of things, this is the only one that really matters. All the rest will just pass away. None are who I really am but just what I have done. But as a man, many of those things at times were something I thought of as defining me. But that was not correct thinking for sure.
In all truth, I grew a little weary of trying to figure it all out. So I stopped trying to. Something changes and I am like, "Oh, ok!"
What I know for sure is God has all my steps planned out. I don't need to know how, where, what, when and why, I just need to show up and walk, run or whatever it takes. I am working for the King of kings and I am more than good with that.
It's much better just to follow the One that is directing my path!
