1 Samuel 17:6, “And the Philistine drew near and presented himself forty days, morning and evening.”
Goliath drew near and presented himself 40 days, morning and evening. Twice a day making the same challenge. Send me a man to fight.
40 in biblical numerology is the number of testings, trials, judgements and times of trouble. We saw it in Genesis with Noah’s ark. It rained 40 days and 40 nights. We saw it in Matthew chapter 4 where Jesus was tested for 40 days. In Numbers 14, the Israelites were in the wilderness for 40 years.
If you’re going through some trial that are afflicting you daily, I want to encourage you to not give up! Stay in the fight! Cling to Jesus!
2 Timothy 2:3, “You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.”
Psalm 30:5, “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”
Galatians 6:9, “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”
