Clear Direction

Clear Direction
by: Pastor Ryan Scheibel

1 Samuel 23:12-13, “Then David said, ‘Will the men of Keilah deliver me and my men into the hand of Saul?’ And the Lord said, ‘They will deliver you.’ So David and his men, about six hundred, arose and departed from Keilah and went wherever they could go. Then it was told Saul that David had escaped from Keilah; so he halted the expedition.”
God told David they’ll deliver you to him. David and his 600 men bounce out of the city so the number had grown from 400 to 600. People were bailing on Saul right and left. They were going over to Davids side.

God told David they’re going to turn you over to them. We see David turns to the Lord in prayer and God told him what to do and what not to do and ultimately what would happen.
Pastor Chuck Smith would say, “God guides us one step at a time. He usually doesn’t give us step two until we have obeyed step one.”

It was told to Saul that David fled and Saul stopped seeking David for the moment. So David and his men were spared death because he sought the Lord through prayer.

I wonder how many things have gone wrong in our lives because we didn’t seek the Lord. If we want God to direct our path, we must acknowledge Him through prayer in all our ways. David prayed and God gave him clear direction.
