Take Care of Others

Take Care of Others
by: Pastor Ryan Scheibel

1 Samuel 22:3-4, “Then David went from there to Mizpah of Moab; and he said to the king of Moab, ‘Please let my father and mother come here with you, till I know what God will do for me.’ So he brought them before the king of Moab, and they dwelt with him all the time that David was in the stronghold.”

Here we really see the heart of David because David was not only looking out for himself, he was also looking out for others and his family, concerned for their welfare. And what a great encouragement that ought to be for us because the world tells us to look out for numero uno, but the Bible says the opposite.

Philippians 2:3-5, “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.”

We’re to look out for the needs of others even above our own needs and that’s really the heart and mind of Christ.

Matthew 20:28, “Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
